1. Before going to bed, make milk your best companion.
If milk is something for you, that’s excellent! A glass of milk does wonders to your sleep. Drinking it 15 minutes before going to bed allows the calcium to soothe jagged nerves, relaxing your body. Alternatively, if milk isn’t something you love, Camomile, Catnip, Anise, or Fennel tea does the job too.
2. They invented a breathing exercise to help you fall asleep in a minute.
Getting the best sleep is as simple as breathing in and breathing out! Dr. Andrew Weil, a Harvard-trained medical doctor, has developed a simple technique that will dramatically speed up relaxation after practice! Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound. Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four. Hold your breath for a count of seven. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight. Repeat.
3. Having a consistent bedtime routine will make sleeping easier.
When you go to bed and get up at the same time every day, even during weekends, the consistency reinforces your body’s sleep-wake cycle, which helps you sleep better at night. If you would like to wake up at 6.30am in the morning, go to bed at 11pm or earlier, and stick to the sleep-wake cycle. This sets a healthy sleep-wake cycle for your body, and you will naturally feel sleepy when the clock strikes 11pm.
